1. Understand how personal hygiene contributes to infection prevention and control when caring for infants and children  with cardiac problems or feeding difficulties    1.1 Explain why infants and children with cardiac or feeding difficulties may be vulnerable to infection
1.2 Explain how to minimise the risk of infection to self and others
1.3 Explain the importance of good personal hygiene when caring for infants and children 
1.4 Describe personal hygiene routines or practices, including good hand washing, uniforms and use of antibacterial hand gel, that support infection prevention and control
2. Understand how to reduce the risk of infection when caring for infants and children with cardiac problems or feeding difficulties    2.1 Explain how to manage coughing and sneezing to minimise the spread of infection
2.2 Explain how to manage spilled blood and bodily fluids to minimise the spread of infection
2.3 Explain how to dispose of personal, protective equipment and other waste appropriately
2.4 Explain why vaccinations must be kept up to date
