Give as you Earn

Do your employers have a Payroll Giving Scheme?

Give As You Earn is taken from your salary at source so you actually get the tax benefit from this way of giving. A monthly amount is taken from your salary before tax and sent to the charity. Employers must belong to this scheme and will be able to explain its implications fully to you.
For more information click here

Example

If you earn between £10 and £36000 per year

Donating £10.00 per month, using payroll giving, you would actually donate £8.00, the taxman would donate £2.00.

If you earn £37000 + per year

Donating £10.00 per month using payroll giving, you would actually donate £6.00, the taxman would donate £4.00.

A Gift in your Will

Legacy planning for everyone

A way to help Lagan's Foundation in the future

If you are thinking about writing a Will or amending an existing one, including a charity can be a very special way of helping good work to continue in the future. This is often referred to as 'leaving a legacy'.

Why do you need a Will?

It is important to write a Will to ensure those you care about will be provided for when the time comes. If you don't have a Will, your estate (everything you own) will be distributed according to current legislation, and if you have no surviving relatives, the Government is entitled to everything!

How can you make a Will?

A Will is a legal document and must comply with legal formalities. For this reason we recommend that you ask an independent will writer to help you write one.

There are different ways of leaving a gift in your will

A pecuniary legacy is a gift of a fixed sum of money. There is no minimum amount that can be left.
A residuary legacy is a gift of the whole or a share of whatever remains of your estate after all other gifts have been distributed to family and friends and any debts are paid off.
A specific gift is a tangible item, such as a house, piece of jewellery or car.

Inheritance Tax

Legacies are generally exempt from inheritance tax, so a gift in your Will to Lagan's Foundation could be tax free for us and in some circumstances could reduce the amount of inheritance tax your loved ones are liable for. If you would like more information, please visit the HMRC website.
